Your Home Defense Strategy
TIPS

01

HOME DEFENSE PREPARATION

Always keep a charged cell phone! When a perpetrator enters your home, one of the first things they do is cut the phone lines. Ensuring your cell phone is charged, will allow you to call 911 immediately. Check all doors, and windows before bed, and set alarms. Even if your alarm system isn't working, seeing the signs or the “activated” light can still be a great deterrent for possible intruders.

Tip 1: Keep devices charged
Tip 2: know your home

02

KNOW YOUR HOME

Cover is protection from the fire of hostile weapons. Concealment is protection from observation.

Study your home and learn what the differences are. Full refrigerators, freezers, and brick walls are some things in your home that'll stop most firearm bullets. Concealment is an important part of self-defense. If your attacker cannot see you and know how prepared you are, you have the upper hand in protecting yourself. Knowing the difference can greatly affect your safety outcome.

Preparation Tip. Keep electronic ear protection and a flashlight with your home defense firearms.

03

FAMILY MEETING

Having a firearm safely locked away isn't enough. You should create a safety plan that includes storage and possible scenarios when using it may be necessary. This may reduce the fear and give everyone a clear understanding of the responsibility of firearm usage.

Lastly, make sure there is a medical kit on hand and knowledge on how to administer basic care.

Tip 3: Have a family meeting
